Did you always know you wanted to be a dentist?

My patients often ask me, did you always know you wanted to be a dentist? The simple answer is no. In fact it was not until my sophomore year of college when I became interested in the field. Dentistry seemed to encompass my interests in art, science, mechanics and education and I decided it was worth exploring further. After immersing myself in the field by shadowing dentists, talking with students and pouring through books and journal articles, I knew that my interest became my passion. Today, I feel incredibly blessed for being able to pursue my dream. I believe it is my responsibility to serve my hometown community in the best possible capacity by committing myself to excellence, staying current with on-going learning, and most importantly to always do good for others.
